Mandarin Chinese News Boot Camps for Young Learners Spring 2018/ Berkeley, CA
This is a series of boot camps for young Mandarin Chinese learners between 10-18 years old. We use a virtual classroom and online news database to enable student-driven content selection, results-focused daily studying, and evidence-based evaluation. You can choose between Traditional or Simplified scripts, and decide how many news articles suitable for your level that you want to study each week. You get to speak Mandarin with a native speaker twice a week via audio/video calls. Every Sunday, we gather together to discuss the hottest news from Greater China, and you get to present the news you've studied to a supportive audience, while getting feedback from your teacher and peers. All these are jam-packed in one affordable program!
We offer three terms from January to June 2018. You can sign up for one or two terms, but we encourage you to join all three to see long-term benefit and get a 10% discount. Space is limited to 8 seats per term. So act fast!
